Awards, Credentials & Certifications
Northern Lights Exteriors has been working on Colorado’s Front Range since 2001. Below is every award, certification and credential we hold — what each one is, who issues it, and how you can check it yourself. We have listed them exactly as they were awarded.
Is Northern Lights Exteriors a Good Company?
By the measures you can check yourself, yes. Northern Lights Exteriors has worked on Colorado’s Front Range since 2001 under Colorado Class C general contractor license #C120350. Homeowners rate us 4.9 out of 5 from 552 Google reviews and 4.9 from 198 Houzz reviews, the Better Business Bureau rates us A+ and has accredited us since 2010, and GuildQuality surveys our customers independently. James Hardie, GAF and TimberTech list us in their own public contractor locators (James Hardie, GAF, TimberTech). None of these is our own claim: each one is published by the organization that issued it.

Manufacturer Certifications
Manufacturer certifications matter for one practical reason: they are usually what makes the manufacturer’s own warranty available on your house. A product warranty assumes the product was installed the way the manufacturer specifies, and these programs are how that gets verified.
James Hardie Elite Contractor
Issued by James Hardie Building Products · Since 2011
The top tier of James Hardie’s contractor program. It governs how fiber cement is cut, fastened, flashed and finished — the details that decide whether the siding performs the way the warranty assumes.
James Hardie President’s Club Member
Issued by James Hardie Building Products
James Hardie’s highest contractor distinction nationwide, awarded on top of Elite Contractor status. We hold both.
GAF Master Elite Roofing Contractor
Issued by GAF
GAF’s highest contractor tier, which is what allows us to offer their extended system warranties rather than a labor-only guarantee.
Pella Certified Contractor
Issued by Pella Corporation
Factory training on Pella’s window and door lines, including the install details their warranty depends on.
TimberTech Gold Pro Contractor
Issued by TimberTech
Certification on TimberTech composite and PVC decking — substructure, spans, fastening and the movement tolerances Colorado’s temperature swing demands.
Deckorators Certified Contractor
Issued by Deckorators
Certification on the Deckorators composite and mineral-based decking lines.
Awards & Recognition
| Award | Detail | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Qualified Remodeler Top 500 | Three consecutive years | Qualified Remodeler’s annual ranking of the largest and most established remodeling firms in the United States. Three years running is the part that matters — it reflects sustained volume, not one good year. |
| GuildQuality GuildMaster | — | Awarded on the strength of surveyed customer feedback rather than an application. GuildQuality surveys homeowners directly and publishes the results. |
| BBB Torch Award for Ethics — Finalist | Finalist | The Better Business Bureau’s ethics award, judged on business practices and leadership rather than size or revenue. We were a finalist — not a winner, and we would rather say so plainly. |
| Bulldog 100 | University of Georgia | The University of Georgia’s annual list of the fastest-growing businesses led by UGA alumni. It is a recognition of our ownership, not a construction-industry award. |
| Best of Longmont Service Award | Longmont, Colorado | Longmont is where this company has its roots, which makes local recognition there worth more to us than a national logo. |
| Best of Weld County Award | Weld County, Colorado | Weld County is home — our office is in Fort Lupton. |
| BusinessRate Best of 2026 | Siding Contractor, Weld County | BusinessRate’s 2026 recognition for siding contracting in Weld County. |
| Angi Super Service Award | Angi | Angi’s annual award, judged on verified customer ratings and reviews rather than on an application. |
| Best of Houzz — Service Award | Houzz, customer service | Houzz’s service award, decided by the ratings and reviews Houzz collects from homeowners. |

What Homeowners Actually Reported
GuildQuality surveys our customers directly — we do not collect, filter or publish these ourselves. Across 1,393 surveys sent and 674 responses, this is what homeowners said:
| What was asked | Satisfied |
|---|---|
| I am satisfied with the quality of the workmanship | 100% |
| The salesperson was knowledgeable and helpful | 99% |
| I received a fair value for my money | 99% |
| I am satisfied with the quality of materials used | 98% |
| The installation crew was organized and professional | 97% |
| Problems were effectively addressed and resolved | 97% |
| I am likely to recommend Northern Lights Exteriors | 96% |
| The job site is kept clean and safe | 90–96% |
The two we watch hardest are the two that are not 100%: communication and schedule. Those are the hardest things to get right in remodeling and we would rather show you the real numbers than round them off. The full report, including every individual review, is on our GuildQuality profile — 4.8 from 552 reviews, published by GuildQuality, not by us.
How to Check Any of This Yourself
Every item above is issued by somebody else, which means you do not have to take our word for it:
- Manufacturer certifications can be confirmed through each manufacturer’s own contractor locator — James Hardie, GAF, Pella, TimberTech and Deckorators all publish one.
- GuildQuality publishes surveyed homeowner feedback directly, rather than self-reported reviews.
- The Better Business Bureau lists our profile and our Torch Award finalist placement.
- Our license can be checked against #C120350.
If a contractor cannot tell you who issued a credential and where to verify it, that is worth noticing.
A Note on What We Do Not Claim
We list the BBB Torch Award as a finalist placement, because that is what it is. Bulldog 100 recognizes our ownership through the University of Georgia alumni network — it is not a construction award, and we would rather say that than let it look like one. We also keep this page current: if a manufacturer program lapses, it comes off.
