Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 25, 2026
Northern Lights Exteriors, LLC (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit our website at https://northernlightsexteriors.com/ (the “Website”), request or receive our services, or participate in any of our communications, survey, feedback, or review-request programs (collectively, the “Programs”). By using the Website, requesting services, or participating in any Program, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Scope of This Policy
This policy applies to information we collect through the Website, through our Programs (including SMS/MMS text messages, email, and phone calls), through the job-site content and review tools we use to showcase our work, and through related online interactions. It does not apply to information collected entirely offline (for example, in person on a job site) unless we specifically state otherwise.
The Website and Programs are intended for users located in the United States. If you access the Website or participate in any Program from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information (a) that you provide to us directly, (b) automatically when you browse the Website, (c) through cookies and similar technologies, and (d) from third-party platforms and integrations we use to deliver our services. The categories below summarize what we may collect.
2.1 Information You Provide Voluntarily
When you request service or an estimate, schedule an appointment, start a chat, contact us, or participate in a Program, we may collect:
- Identifiers and contact information — such as your name, email address, phone number, and mailing or service address.
- Service and project details — such as service type, project dates, preferred appointment windows, photos or attachments you upload, insurance or claim-related details you choose to share, and notes you provide.
- Communications content — such as messages you submit through forms, chat, SMS/MMS, email, or phone.
- Survey responses and feedback — including Net Promoter Score (NPS) ratings, star ratings, qualitative comments about completed work, and anything else you choose to share in a survey or review request.
- Any other information you choose to submit.
You are not required to provide personal information to browse the Website, but if you choose not to provide certain information, we may be unable to respond to your request, administer certain Programs, or provide certain services.
2.2 Job, Project, and Worksite Content
As part of delivering and showcasing our work, we and our service providers may capture and process content related to the jobs we perform, which can include personal information:
- Worksite location — the approximate or general location where a project is performed, which in many cases is a private residence.
- Project media — photos and videos of the worksite and the work performed.
- Job and check-in details — descriptions of the work, materials, and keywords associated with a project, along with the name and contact details of the primary contact (such as a homeowner) for whom the work was performed.
Some of this content may be displayed publicly. Please see Section 4 (Publicly Displayed Content) for details and your choices.
2.3 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Website, we and our service providers may automatically collect:
- IP address and general location (such as the city or state inferred from your IP address).
- Device and browser information (such as browser type, operating system, device type, carrier, and language settings).
- Usage and event data (such as pages visited, links clicked, scroll activity, time on page, and referring/exit pages).
- Session identifiers, timestamps, and diagnostic data used for performance, analytics, and security monitoring.
2.4 Cookies, Pixels, Web Beacons, SDKs, and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies — including pixels, web beacons (also called clear gifs or single-pixel gifs), tags, local storage, and SDKs — to help the Website function, understand how it is used, and support advertising and measurement. Web beacons in our web pages and emails may, for example, let us count visitors to a page, record whether an email was opened, and verify system integrity. Examples of the tools we use include:
- Analytics tools (for example, Google Analytics) to understand Website traffic and usage.
- Advertising and conversion measurement tools (for example, Google Ads and Meta Pixel) to measure marketing effectiveness and deliver ads.
- Call tracking tools (for example, dynamic phone numbers) to attribute calls and leads to marketing sources.
- Chat, messaging, and review/reputation tools to support customer communications and display our work and reviews.
Some of these technologies are operated by third parties and may collect information across different websites or services over time, subject to those parties’ own privacy practices. You can manage cookies through your browser settings and any cookie controls offered on the Website — see Section 6.
2.5 Information from Third-Party Platforms and Integrations
We use third-party platforms to manage reviews, showcase our work, and communicate with customers. Through these integrations we may receive information about you:
- Public review content. When you leave a public review for us on a platform such as Google or Facebook, we may receive the review content along with the public profile name and photo associated with your account.
- Linked accounts. If a third-party account (such as Google or Facebook) is linked to the tools we use, we may receive related profile information. Any use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
- Publicly available information. We may collect information that is publicly available, such as business listings or details you share through social media.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for legitimate business purposes, which may include to:
- Provide and manage services — responding to inquiries, providing estimates, scheduling, and coordinating project delivery.
- Communicate with you — confirmations, reminders, follow-ups, and customer support.
- Administer surveys, NPS, and feedback Programs — sending invitations, collecting and analyzing scores and comments, and following up on issues you raise.
- Invite you to leave reviews on public platforms, at your discretion, and track whether requests are sent or completed.
- Showcase our completed work, including job photos, videos, project locations, and reviews, on our Website, marketing materials, and integrated platforms.
- Operate, maintain, analyze, and improve the Website and Programs, including troubleshooting, testing, and measuring performance.
- Conduct marketing and advertising, including measuring campaign performance and attributing calls and leads.
- Protect against fraud, misuse, and security incidents; enforce our policies; and maintain the integrity of our systems.
- Comply with applicable legal requirements and respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not use information collected through the Website or Programs to make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you solely by automated means.
4. Publicly Displayed Content
A core part of our business is demonstrating the quality of our work. Job content and reviews may be displayed publicly through our Website, embedded widgets, interactive project maps, and integrated third-party platforms. Publicly displayed content may include:
- The approximate or general location of a completed project (for example, a neighborhood, city, or map pin), which may correspond to a private residence.
- Photos and videos of the worksite and the work performed.
- Review content and, where you left a public review on a platform such as Google or Facebook, the public profile name and photo associated with your account.
We do not publicly display the email address or phone number of customers we have asked to provide reviews. If you do not want your project content displayed publicly, or you would like content about your project removed, please contact us using the information in Section 14 and we will take reasonable steps to honor your request.
5. Communications and Text Messaging Privacy
If you provide your phone number or email address, you may receive communications from us, including service-related messages, satisfaction surveys and NPS requests, qualitative feedback requests, invitations to leave public reviews, and — where permitted — limited promotional messages related to our services.
5.1 SMS / MMS Text Messages
- Message frequency may vary based on your interactions with us and the Programs you join.
- Message and data rates may apply, and your wireless carrier may charge you according to your plan.
- You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. We may send a one-time confirmation that you have been unsubscribed.
- For help, reply HELP or contact us using the information in Section 14.
- To enable business text messaging, business registration information may be processed by our messaging providers as part of carrier registration requirements (for example, A2P 10DLC registration).
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number, text-message consent information, or opt-out status with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We may share this information only with service providers that help us deliver text messages (such as messaging platforms and carriers) or as required by law.
6. Cookies, Interest-Based Advertising, and Your Choices
6.1 Managing Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings, including refusing some or all cookies or receiving an alert when cookies are sent. If the Website presents a cookie banner or preference center, you can use it to manage certain categories of cookies. Blocking cookies may affect Website functionality, and some cookies are necessary for the Website to operate. For general information on managing cookies, you can visit allaboutcookies.org.
6.2 Analytics and Advertising Tools
We may use third-party analytics and advertising tools (such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Meta Pixel). These providers may set cookies and collect information about your interactions with the Website to provide measurement, analytics, and advertising services, which may be combined with other information for the purposes described in this policy. You can opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies through the Network Advertising Initiative at optout.networkadvertising.org and the Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info. These opt-outs are device- and browser-specific.
6.3 Location Information
Some features may use information about your device’s location. You can control real-time location collection through your device’s privacy settings, though blocking it may make some features inaccessible or limited.
6.4 Global Privacy Control (GPC)
Some browsers or extensions support the Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) signal. Where required by applicable law, we will treat a GPC signal as a request to opt out of certain processing (such as certain “sharing” for targeted advertising under state law). Honoring GPC may be limited by technical constraints and may not apply to all uses of cookies (for example, cookies necessary to operate the Website).
6.5 Do Not Track
Because there is no common industry standard for interpreting “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals, the Website may not respond to all DNT signals. You can use the other controls in this section to manage cookies and tracking.
7. How We Share and Disclose Information
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information collected through the Website and Programs in the limited circumstances described below.
7.1 Service Providers
We share information with vendors and service providers that help us operate the Website, run our business, and deliver our Programs — such as website hosting providers, analytics providers, advertising and measurement vendors, call tracking providers, messaging and customer-communication platforms, and survey, review, and reputation-management platforms that capture job content and manage reviews on our behalf. These providers may use information only to perform services for us and are subject to contractual confidentiality and security obligations; they are not authorized to use personal information for their own independent marketing.
When a service provider hosts, displays, or processes content on our behalf (for example, a reputation or review-management platform that powers our job galleries and review requests), that provider generally acts as a processor and we direct how the information is used.
Mobile data carve-out: All categories of sharing in this Section exclude mobile contact information and text-messaging opt-in data and consent. This information will not be sold or shared with any third parties or affiliates for their promotional or marketing purposes, and will only be shared with service providers that assist us in delivering our text messages or as required by law.
7.2 Legal and Safety
We may disclose information if we believe it is necessary to: comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; enforce our agreements or policies; protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our customers, or others; or detect, prevent, or address fraud or security issues.
7.3 Business Transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of our business or assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate confidentiality protections.
7.4 Aggregated and De-identified Information
We may share aggregated or de-identified information that does not identify any individual without restriction.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, including the use of reputable technology providers to store and secure information on our behalf. No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Where you have a password for access to any part of our Website or services, you are responsible for keeping it confidential. Email, text messages, and chat communications may not be encrypted end-to-end; please do not send sensitive information through these channels. If you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, please contact us immediately using the information in Section 14.
9. Links to Other Websites
The Website may contain links to third-party websites or services. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the content, privacy practices, or security of third-party websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any website you visit.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Website and Programs are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Website or a Program, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps to delete it. California residents under 18 may have additional rights regarding the collection and sale of their personal information — see Section 12.
11. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy — including to provide services, administer Programs (such as surveys and review requests), display completed-project content, maintain business records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete, de-identify, or securely dispose of it in accordance with applicable law.
12. Your U.S. State Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. State consumer privacy laws in states including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Montana, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia provide (now or in the future) their residents with rights that may include the right to:
- Confirm whether we process your personal information and access it.
- Correct inaccuracies in your personal information (taking into account the information’s nature and the purpose of processing).
- Request deletion of personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Obtain a portable copy of your personal information.
- Opt out of targeted advertising, the “sale” of personal information, and certain profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
- Either limit (opt out of) or, where required, provide consent for the processing of sensitive personal information.
- Appeal a decision regarding your privacy request, where required by applicable law.
The availability and exact scope of these rights vary by state. As a Colorado-based company, we recognize that Colorado residents have these rights under the Colorado Privacy Act.
How to Exercise Your Rights
To submit a privacy request, contact us using the information in Section 14. We may need to verify your identity before completing your request. Where permitted by law, you may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. If your request is denied, you may have the right to appeal by contacting us and stating that you are submitting an appeal.
No Sale of Personal Information
We do not sell personal information for money. We may allow certain third-party partners to collect information through cookies and similar technologies for analytics, advertising, and measurement, which may be considered “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under some state laws. You can opt out using the controls described in Section 6.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above. If we make material changes to how we treat personal information, we will provide notice as required by law. Your continued use of the Website or participation in any Program after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
